A sales manager in proptech is a leader who oversees a team of sales executives who sell technology solutions to real estate professionals. They are responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, setting sales targets, and coaching and motivating their team to achieve those targets.  

Salary:

Salaries depend on the company size, commission structure, and experience level, but here’s a general range:

Junior Sales Manager (2–4 years experience):

£40,000 – £60,000 base + commission

Mid-Level Sales Manager (4–7 years experience):

£60,000 – £80,000 base + commission

Senior Sales Manager (7+ years experience):

£80,000 – £100,000+ base + commission

OTE (On-Target Earnings):

Many Sales Managers earn £100K+ when commission and bonuses are included, particularly in SaaS-driven PropTech firms.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and implementing sales strategies:

This includes identifying target markets, setting sales goals, and creating sales plans to achieve those goals.

Managing and motivating a sales team:

This includes recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring sales executives. It also involves creating a positive and supportive team environment.  

Setting sales targets and monitoring performance:

This includes setting individual and team sales targets, tracking progress, and providing feedback to sales executives.  

Analysing sales data and identifying trends:

This includes using sales data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to improve sales performance.

Building and maintaining relationships with key customers

This includes identifying and building relationships with key decision-makers at potential and existing customers.  

Staying up-to-date on industry trends:

This includes staying informed about the latest proptech solutions and trends in the real estate industry.

To be successful in this role, the sales manager needs to have a strong understanding of the real estate industry and the challenges that real estate professionals face. They also need to be able to effectively communicate the value of the company’s solutions to potential customers. Additionally, they need to be highly motivated and results-oriented, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. They also need to be effective leaders who can motivate and inspire their team to achieve success.
